Born and raised in Los Angeles, Vanessa Van Petten began writing books in her teens to help parents and teenagers answer questions. After winning the Mom’s Choice Award in 2009, she started a popular website for parents and teenagers. “We offer advice on interaction issues or celebrity problems,” she said. The books were written by actual writers. “I got into deep waters through several bad moments as a teenager,” she said. “I’ll put them in perspective.”

“We are going to keep working on helping you. We’re going to get over the problems and be strong together with our teens in the future,” she added.

From now on, my husband and I are going to develop an open dialogue with our daughter, Ira. We’ll do our best to have no more (e) conversation gaps between us. Thanks to Vanessa and her team for touching softly to our hearts.

My parents and I have always spoken different languages till we see Vanessa’s website. I’m sure the blog will help us bridge the gap with (f) humour and humility, and we will understand each other’s perspective. Vanessa is my role model, and I’m planning to be a youthologist like her. I’m going to publish my own parenting book. I hope I will manage to help parents and teens.
