Born and raised in Los Angeles, Vanessa Van Petten is one of the most popular writers and bloggers on parenting topics. During her teenage years, she often got into deep water with her parents, arguing about house rules, friends, and school. At that moment, she decided to take matters into her own hands and write about teenage problems from a teenager’s perspective.

After winning the Mom’s Choice Award in 2009, she launched her well-known website. There, she gives practical and real advice to parents and teenagers. “We offer advice that really works! My parents and I have always spoken different languages till we see Vanessa’s website.
